Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) recently released the fourth major upgrade to its FidelityFX suite of technologies, called FSR 4. This new FSR 4 tech came alongside the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs and is also supported on the recently launched budget-oriented RX 9060 XT graphics card.

But many were doubtful about whether or not FSR 4 would receive widespread support in games. Initially, not many titles were supported. In the games that did feature fully fledged FSR 4-based AI upscaling, the overall resultant graphics quality looked quite beautiful. Examples of such titles include Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

AMD users, particularly those who had purchased RX 9000 Series GPUs, were hoping that AMD would soon add support to more games. Over the past couple of months, AMD has continuously increased its FSR 4 support, making these hopes a reality. AMD currently supports a total of 65 games. This is great news, and we should see wide FSR 4 adoption in PC games by the end of this year. Now, let’s explore the new games added in the latest update and check out all the games that support FSR.

Latest FSR 4 Updates Have Added Support for 18 New Games

In AMD’s Adrenalin 25.6.1 update, more than a dozen games received support for FSR 4. This includes notable titles like F1 25, Star Wars Outlaws, and Stellar Blade. Here are all the new titles that were added in this latest update:

  • Wild Assault
  • Rem Survival
  • QANGA
  • Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O
  • F1 25
  • Runescape: Dragonwilds
  • Deadzone: Rogue
  • Star Wars Outlaws
  • Legacy: Steel & Sorcery
  • Frostpunk 2
  • Lords of the Fallen
  • Steel Seed
  • Stellar Blade
  • Planetaries

In another recent update, which was Adrenalin 25.6.2, AMD added another four games with FSR support. These are listed below. The update also introduced optimizations for Remedy’s latest co-op game, FBC: Firebreak.

  • Delta Force
  • The Alters
  • RoadCraft
  • Dragonkin: The Banished

How Much Faster Do Games Run With FSR 4?

AMD’s FSR 4 benchmarks, conducted on their latest RX 9070 XT graphics card, suggest that it can deliver anywhere from 2.1x to 3.7x faster performance. In a game like Ratchet and Clank running at native 4K, FSR upscaling combined with frame generation results in the performance jumping from a mere 38 FPS to 142 FPS, representing a 3.7x increase.

Similarly, in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the benchmark suggests the FPS jumps to 222 from only 73, which is a great upgrade in performance. All of those frames make gaming quite smooth, although note that higher frames facilitated by frame generation do not offer the same advantages for input lag reduction as compared to genuinely rendering the same amount of FPS.

With FSR 4 becoming increasingly popular in games, it makes great sense to consider AMD’s RX 9000 Series GPUs. The RX 9060 XT, in particular, is a very exciting option with a 16GB VRAM model that appeals to 1440p gamers. FSR 4’s resultant image quality is good enough to make 4K gaming possible even on lower-end GPUs.

So, if you’re looking for a worthy graphics card upgrade, it would be a good idea to ensure it supports FSR 4 as well. While Nvidia’s DLSS 4 is also great and features better frame generation tech, their GPUs are more expensive compared to AMD’s offerings. Let’s hope for even better FSR adoption moving forward!
